Kinsights is an amazing website – especially for preemie parents. I wish it had been available when I brought my preemie home!
Kinsights offers a wonderful, free alternative to the traditional paper and notebook record keeping. It is an online database that allows parents to keep records of their children’s health and wellbeing. You can track your child’s height, weight, immunizations, allergies and intolerances, short and long term medical conditions, a medication list, developmental milestones and more.
As a parent of a child who has multiple special needs, I found the medication and medical conditions to be extremely thorough. I felt as if this website is designed with all parents in mind – those whose children have few, if any, medical conditions and those who have children with multiple special needs.
One aspect I particularly like is the medical record can be exported and printed for you to carry with you to doctor appointments, leave for the babysitter, keep on file – there are countless options. My son has no less than ten specialists at any given time and I’m always afraid I will forget to tell the doctor about a new diagnosis or medication. With Kinsights, I can now keep my son’s record updated with each appointment or medication change and have a peace of mind in knowing I won’t forget anything.
The website also offers a forum where parents can ask questions of other parents. There are countless groups and topics offered. There are groups geared specifically to parents of preemies, parents of children with specific medical conditions, support groups, groups for people living in certain geographic regions, groups for grandparents, and more. If you don’t see a group for you, you can start your own!
Graham’s Foundation is a proud partner of Kinsights. For every sign up, Graham’s Foundation receives $2 to help in the efforts of ensuring that no parent goes through the journey of prematurity alone. You may sign up using one of the direct links below or by entering the invitation code GRAHAMS.
I promise, you will be glad you registered.
