On October 1, Graham’s Foundation supporters new and old gathered at NYC’s Eventi Hotel for an amazing evening of drinks, dinner, inspirational talks, and an out of this world auction in support of our organization. The 2015 fall Tinis for Preemies gala was everything we could have hoped for thanks to the hard work of our staff, volunteers, and sponsors like Starbright Floral Design, Craig Scott Entertainment, and longtime supporter Tito’s Handmade Vodka.

It had been a drizzly day, but attendees were snug in the Eventi Hotel’s outdoor rooftop dining room – a very cool tented space with an amazing view of the city. It was here that more than a hundred preemie parents, advocates, and NYC movers and shakers gathered to hear how Graham’s Foundation came to be and how our mission has changed over the years.

We were honored to have preemie mom and author of Girl in Glass Deanna Fei there to present this year’s Hope Award to the authors of the book Preemies and the creators of the award-winning MyPreemie app – Dana Linden, Emma Trenti Paroli, and Mia Wechsler Doron. We also were lucky enough to have preemie mom Kathy Walley and her daughter Britton there to present researcher and neonatologist Dr. Alan Spitzer with this year’s Miracles Award.

One highlight of the evening was the auction, which included artwork by Dr. Spitzer, vacation property rentals including a week at a Costa Rica villa donated by Booz Allen Hamilton’s Xena Ugrinsky, golf packages, and more. The auctioneer, a close friend of Nick’s, made it one of our most successful (and most fun) auctions yet! Thanks in part to the generosity of our auction item donors, we raised funds that will help us continue to fund our mission through the end of the year and into 2016.
