Meet a NICU Ambassador

A few days ago, we introduced you to Jennifer Mayberry, the new NICU Ambassador Director at Graham’s Foundation. Graham’s Foundation NICU Ambassadors play a vital role in the mission of Graham’s Foundation by maintaining a relationship with their local NICU, planning Parents of Preemies Day events, providing local support when needed, fundraising, and sharing Graham’s Foundation resources with the NICU.

Recently, a long-time Graham’s Foundation NICU Ambassador, Nicole, was featured in an interview about her involvement in athletics. A special thanks to Nicole for all of her work as a NICU Ambassador and for mentioning her work in the interview!

A former middle and high school chorus teacher, Laura B. Martin is the Director of Parent Communication and Engagement at Graham’s Foundation. She is mom to Joseph, Campbell, and Emily. Joseph and Campbell, fraternal twins, were born at 24 weeks gestation. Campbell lived for 23 beautiful days. Joseph spent 228 days in the NICU and experienced a near fatal bout with NEC that left him with Short Bowel Syndrome. Joseph faces many complications as a result of his extreme prematurity. He has a g-tube, auditory neuropathy, hypotonic cerebral palsy, asthma, vision impairment, hypothyroidism, Eosinophilic Esophagitis, and multiple food allergies.
