Fathers of Preemies

Interview with a Preemie Dad

Interview with a Preemie Dad

by Kristina Mulligan As a preemie mom, I’ve had the opportunity to be relatively vocal about our family’s experiences in the NICU and beyond, but my husband, DJ, hasn’t necessarily gotten to do the same. I decided to sit down with him and ask some important questions to give him his own voice, and to […]

NICU Dads - Thank You for Being Superheroes!

NICU Dads – Thank You for Being Superheroes!

by Lindsay Nolan I was scrolling through Instagram at about 3 a.m. while my husband, Danny slept on the couch next to me. My internal clock was a bit off; the NICU does that to you. It was about two weeks into our stay at the hospital and I was deciding on which filters to […]

How My Preemies Taught Me to Fly

How My Preemies Taught Me to Fly

Our twins, Reece and Graham, were born 15 weeks premature on Thanksgiving day 2006. Our son did not catch the breaks you need when you’re born that early and after 45 days, we had to say goodbye. Our daughter spent 119 days in the hospital before we finally brought her home. As preemie parents know, […]

Advice for Parents of Preemies from Parents of Preemies

When it comes to what to say to parents of preemies (and what not to say to parents of preemies), the moms and dads who’ve been there in the trenches of the NICU know best. While not every parent of a premature baby wants to hear the same things, the list below contains suggestions from […]

Meet Our 2017 Ambassador Family

Meet Our 2017 Ambassador Family

When Katie and Tom Timmers became parents unexpectedly when Katie was just 28 weeks, 4 days along in her pregnancy, it was a surprise. Like many women who give birth to preemies, she had no major health issues and no idea that she might deliver early. “I started getting swollen at about 24 weeks along,” […]

Increased Investment in Preemie Outcomes is Throwing Good Money after Good

There’s no denying that prematurity is an epidemic. Across the globe, the rate of preterm birth ranges from 5% to 18% of babies born too soon. Globally, prematurity is the leading cause of death in children under the age of 5. And in almost all countries with reliable data, preterm birth rates are increasing. It’s […]

Supporting Preemie Parents in Difficult Times

As we work together through these challenging times, you may have questions about how Graham’s Foundation is supporting our preemie parent community. Fortunately, because our support programs have always been delivered virtually, we are equipped to deliver all of our programs today, tomorrow, and into the future to continue to meet the psychosocial needs of parents.

Our Care Packages offer helpful tips for self-care and navigating the NICU and going home (our supplies have been in stock since before the COVID-19 outbreak), our MyPreemie app provides critical preemie-related information and helps parents journal their NICU experience, and our three dozen trained mentors are available to lend an ear and offer words of advice and encouragement.

In such a difficult time, it is more important than ever that we are here for the most vulnerable members of our community and Graham’s Foundation is ready. We are grateful to our volunteers and the individuals and industry partners who make generous donations that enable us to develop and deliver our support programs.

In Gratitude,

Nicholas Hall, Founder
